General Information

  • Surgical prophylaxis.

  • Pelvic inflammatory disease.

  • M. abscessus infections.

Pregnancy: Compatible.

Breastfeeding: Compatible.

  • Gastrointestinal intolerance (diarrhea)

  • Allergy (immediate and delayed)

Note cefoxitin shares a similar structural side chain to penicillin, therefore, there is an increased risk of allergy cross reaction between these agents.
